šŸƒThe Sustainability Top 10

Smoke and your body, green AI chatbots, Tesla+GM+Ford deal, llego El Niño, declining circularity, global plastic treaty...and+

Welcome back šŸ–,

First of all, I wanted to let you know that this is the first edition of The Green Tea on a new newsletter platform, which will provide you with some new functionality(yay!) that I will tell you more about in future posts. The email should look very similar to previous ones, but if you notice anything weird (for example, the email going to spam, etc), please let me know šŸ™.

This week in sustainability, the smoke covering so much of the USA figuratively and literally overshadowed everything else (the study on exceeding planetary boundaries shared on last week’s edition of The Green Tea felt prescient…). But this week, we also have an EV partnership between Tesla and GM&Ford, a report on declining circularity, results of plastic treaty meeting, fungi as a major carbon sink, green AI chatbots, ESG on the rise in China, and the arrival of El NiƱo. Learn about this and more in The Green Tea's Top 10 actionable, innovation, and hot sustainability stories this week! šŸ‘‡

3. (GreenBiz) Here are two chatbots focusing on sustainability, GreenGPT and Climate Q&A. After a quick try, ChatGPT might still be a better option

+. (Bloomberg) The science of weather attribution has become a big deal. "What’s concerning is this particular series of fires [in Canada] has happened very early in the year. The cumulative burn area is almost what you’d expect by the end of the fire season. Most of the fires usually happen in late July or August, early September. The reason why we’re seeing such large burn area at this time of the year is because of this heat wave — double digits in Celsius above the mean temperature for this time of the year. "

Enjoy and reflect šŸ’. Warm regards / saludos,

Julio
